AMIANTOPLAST is a water based system consisting of an aqueous emulsion of polymers, modifiers, additives, pigments and inorganic fillers. Once fully cured, the film exhibits good permeability to water vapour and high resistance to water and weathering.

AMIANTOPLAST is available in four standard colours: white, grey, red and green.

Usage field

AMIANTOPLAST is used to realize superficial, waterproofing coatings and, in particular, in the encapsulation cycles for the reclamation of asbestos cement artefacts and their recovery. AMIANTOPLAST is a certified product according to the standard UNI 10686, in compliance with the requirements of the Decree of the Ministry of Health 08.20.1999 (OJ No 249 of 10.22.1999), and is therefore suitable for use as a type A” encapsulant.

The installation technique is divided into three phases:

1) Safety Systems Set Up:

  • The first task to be carried out is that of erecting appropriate scaffolding and guardrails systems around the building to ensure applicators safety during the application phase.
  • The applicators minimum equipment shall include: light footwear and non-slip shoes, safety belt with a special anchoring system, nebulizer or sprayer, protective suit, gloves and mask fitted with a P3 filter.

2) Substrate Preparation

  • The encapsulation treatment must always be preceded by a thorough cleaning of the sheets. It is advisable to do a wet cleaning without water jets, or divert the flow to avoid splashing into the air. After drying apply an anchoring base coat of PRIMER SOL PLAST.
  • This product is a specifically designed impregnant capable of penetrating into asbestos cement (CA), binding and deeply consolidating the particles as well as improving the adhesion of any subsequent treatment to the substrate.
  • Primer coverage: 0.15 - 0.20 litres/m2

3) Coating Realization

  • Within half an hour of the previous priming treatment, not less than 1.2 kg/m2 of AMIANTOPLAST shall be applied by sprayer or brush in two coats at intervals of 6¸24 hours from each other. The laying treatment must be carried out without any preliminary washing, also on the underside of the cover (intrados), if the spaces below are not protected from false ceilings or otherwise, in order to protect the staff regularly working in the structure.
  • Stir the product inside the container with a professional agitator before use, then apply it on the primed cover using an airless pump (pressure: 3÷4 bars, nozzle 21, opening 40), in two or three coats.

AMIANTOPLAST can also be applied with a scrubbing brush or special rollers for corrugated covers.

Use water to clean tools before solidification or acetone after film formation.

Average Consumption

To achieve a thickness of 0.60 ± 0.2 mm, 1.20 kg/m2 of product must be applied.

  • Work must be stopped in case of threat of rain, snow or fog and when the temperature is below +5°C.
  • The product is not dangerous, nonetheless a Material Safety Data Sheet is available.

24 months in original packaging. Store in a covered place, at temperature between +5 and +30 °C.
