Description

RIVENORD LAST is a water-based coating consisting of a dispersion of elastic copolymers, modifiers, additives, pigments and very fine fillers.

Once fully cured, the film exhibits excellent water proofness and weather resistance which, combined with the ability to form an elastomeric film resistant to breakage, makes it an ideal product as anti-cracking paint on exterior building products.

Usage field

RIVENORD LAST is used as:

  • an aesthetic, protective and standard coating for buildings exterior walls;
  • as an anti-crack exterior wall paint for all kind of plasters;
  • as anti-crack and anti-carbonation protective paint for concrete;
  • as a transpiring, waterproofing paint for exterior walls of buildings when subjected to very wide temperature changes.

Application

Substrate Preparation:

  • thoroughly clean and remove all loose particles and efflorescence;
  • restore all existing small imperfections on the surface to be treated using RASANTE 1200;
  • if needed, shave the entire surface using RASANTE 1200 or RASANTE 1100;
  • fill all existing cracks with a fine filler (like 2000 STUCCO 2K).

Priming the surface:

  • on friable plasters and plastic coatings apply PRIMER SOLPLAST in one or two coats;
  • for metal parts coating, apply NORPHEN FONDO MA on brushed metal;
  • concrete surfaces shall be primed with RIVLATEX.

Product Preparation

  • Open the package and mix the product with a professional, low RPM mixer

Product Application

  • Apply the first coat of RIVENORD LAST to a dry primer, diluted in water 5÷10% by weight of water, with roller or brush.
  • After 24 hours only to the first dry coat apply one or more product's coats with a roller, brush or spray until reaching the project's scheduled amount.

Average Consumption

Consumption depends on the crack resistance level required by the protective film:

  • as a protective paint: 0.30÷0.35 kg/m²;
  • as an anti-crack coating: 0.8÷1.0 kg/m².

Warning and informations
  • Pay particular attention to working temperatures compared with the air moisture content.
  • On sunny days, the product can be applied at temperatures up to +5°C, while in wet days the minimum temperature of application should be much higher (+15°C).
  • Avoid applying on foggy days.
  • The product is not dangerous, nonetheless a Material Safety Data Sheet is available.
Preservation

24 months when stored in the original unopened packaging, in a dry place at temperatures ranging from +5°C to +35°C. The product is moisture sensitive.
