Impregnation and finishing Treatment

NORDCOTTO INTERNI is a solvent based liquid product that, once applied to a properly washed and dried, new or old Cotto tiled area, penetrates deeply into pores, occluding them.

After drying this product gives to the treated surface a wet glossy look and makes it waterproof against oil, wine, coffee, water and any other type of liquid normally used at home and which penetrating the surface, may stain it.

Usage field

As a basic primer and finishing of Florentine cotto tiles and others terracotta tiles with a constant absorption rate.

NORDCOTTO INTERNI is available in 1 and 5 liter containers.

Surface Preparation

  • At least 2÷3 months after installation on a bed of sand and cement or at least 1 month after installation with adhesives, wash with mechanical brushing using NORDECAL FORTE, then thoroughly rinse and vacuum with a wet vacuum cleaner(or thoroughly dry with rags).
  • Once the surface has perfectly dried (10÷15 days), proceed with the application of NORDCOTTO INTERNI.

  • square plastic bowl;
  • a 25 cm medium or short hair roller with both extensible handle and extension;
  • a 12 x 3 pure bristle, wooden handle flat brush.

  • dip the brush into the product and, without dripping on the floor, apply the product on a small portion of the angle between floor and wall;
  • dip the roller, dribble a little in the bowl, position yourself in the selected area adjacent to the area you just treated with the brush, then cross the roller back and forward;
  • each time you reload the roller treat a certain number of tiles commensurated with the necessity that all the product trapped in the fibers of the roller must be absorbed while rolling; in other words no standing puddles of product must be left behind on the surface;
  • repeat this procedure on a portion of the floor nearby, ensuring to roll back over the adjacent, first row of tiles you've already treated, in order to thoroughly fill all gaps in-between tiles;
  • each floor's section to be treated shall start and terminate at the gaps in-between tiles.
