Description

DRY BETON SUPER is a dry pre-mixed plaster based on hydraulic binders, selected aggregates, light mineral fillers, synthetic fibres and special additives.

Once mixed with clean water it forms an easily workable thixotropic mixture of very lighter weight and ready-to-use for the realization of very high performance plasters for combatting dampness, without any need to pre-treat the surface with other products.

Once fully set, the mortar has a macroporous structure that is particularly effective both against existing salts (inducing salts crystallization inside its own mass) and for what concerns capillary rising damp (causing dampness diffusion toward outside).

DRY BETON SUPER is classified as R according to standard EN 998-1:“Renovation mortar. Designed rendering/plastering mortar used on moist masonry walls containing water soluble salts”.

Usage field

DRY BETON SUPER is used to:

  • combat masonry walls structural dampness suffering from both outdoor and indoor existing capillary rising problems;
  • dehumidification of masonry in environments with high concentrations of salt (lagoons, marine areas), even if damaged by salt exfoliation;
  • combatting dampness in underground areas made with masonry or concrete, provided that no water leaks from the outside.

Substrates preparation
  • remove any possible existing plaster up to 70÷100 cm above the dampened area or obvious signs of degradation;
  • remove all loose and friable materials;
  • fill the mortar bed joints when incoherent;
  • in case of existing high salt concentrations proceed with scraping and brushing to the core of the masonry, and after that carry out a general dry or wet cleaning;
  • compensate and level any existing holes with DRY BETON SUPER and bricks flake;
  • prepare the level strips using a wood pinch rule or synthetic material.
Product preparation
  • pour into a concrete mixer 6 litres of clean water per each bag of DRY BETON SUPER, and then slowly add the product;
  • stir for 5 to 7 minutes until it becomes a creamy paste.
Product application

apply on a substrate, that must be perfectly clean and wetted the night before, a first layer of DRY SUPER BETON to act as a rendering coat, for a coverage equal to 4÷5 kg/m², make sure to slightly increase the mixture water amount and completely cover the surface without smoothing;

after 4÷5 hours apply DRY BETON SUPER as a plaster to a minimum thickness of 2 cm all over the surface, in the following way:

  • apply the product;
  • avoid any possible crushing and any smoothing operation when in the plastic state;
  • slightly level the compound with the straightedge without pressing while applying it over the level strips previously set;
  • remove level strips during the final phase and compensate the part wet on wet.

Bigger thicknesses shall be applied in subsequent coats 24 hours apart from each other.

In case of walls with an existing high concentration of salts, after the rendering coat, wait at least 24 hours before proceeding with the plaster.

Tool cleaning

Clean tools with clean water until the product is fresh, once it has hardened remove it by mechanical means.

Average Consumption

Warning and informations
  • Apply at temperatures between +5 / +35°C.
  • Do not apply in full sun and ensure the product is kept moist and out of direct sunlight to prevent a too rapid drying of the same.
  • In hot weather and on outdoor surfaces, the product, applied keeping the part wet, shall be cured, if needed, during the first 48 hours.
  • During the setting phase do not remix the product adding water.
Preservation

12 months in its original packaging, in a covered and dry place. At temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. The product is moisture sensitive.
