Hydro repellent for masonry injections


NORDRY 200 BASE is a solvent-free product consisting of oligomers and functionalized polymers.

NORDRY 200 BASE when appropriately diluted in solvents and injected is capable of making walls hydro repellent down to the core.

The product is very resistant to alkalinity, rising damp and underwashing.

NORDRY 200 BASE is used as a hydro repellent solution for masonry injection, to eliminate the problem of capillary rising damp.

The product can polymerize polymerize also in damp environments.

Hydro repellent for masonry injections



  • make a series of holes of suitable size for the chosen injection type, e.g. gravity injection at low pressure (0.5÷1.0 bar) or medium pressure (5÷7 bar), using a drill or electric coring machine; holes must be 15 to 25 cm high from the floor;
  • these holes may have an interaxial distance, as measured on the floor, from 15 to 20 cm depending on the porosity of the material to be treated (greater porosity allows a greater distance between the holes) to a depth of 2/3 of the thickness of the wall to be treated;
  • these holes shall be drilled downwards into the masonry at an angle of approx. 15° from top to bottom, proceeding from the outside to the inside of the wall;
  • the ideal system involves the realization of two horizontal series of holes in two rows spaced 15 cm from each other.

Injection by gravity:

  • is performed with the aid of containers connected to a spreading system inserted into the hole and uses gravity to help product penetration inside the wall.

Injection pressure

  • this method is to be preferred because reduces intervention times and ensures a better penetration.
  • It is achieved by connecting the specific self-locking injectors inserted inside the holes to a diaphragm pump. The operating pressure can vary from 0.5 bar (low) to 7 bar (average), depending on the type of material to be impregnated.
  • Normally, a material with a large diameter porosity (macroporosity) allows a low pressure injection, while a substrate characterized by very thin porosity (microporosity) requires the use of higher injection pressures.

Average Consumption

The amount of product to be used depends on masonry absorption and saturation degree (humidity). We recommend to use for each square meter of 50 cm thick walls (holes spaced 15 cm apart from each other) from 10 to 20 litres of product previously diluted 1:10 with commercial mineral white spirit.

Warning and informations

If the substrate shows capillaries or actual holes, make first a filling injection using NORDCEM (osmotic action concrete) and wait until it is perfectly dry before laying the product.

With existing masonry friable joints, drillings should reach down into the bricks, to keep pressure high during the injection phase.

Check in advance one or more small areas for any unforeseen incompatibilities.

For indoor treatments, it is advisable to dilute the product with de-aromatized white spirit, to avoid a persistent solvent smell.

Using the product as a non-film-forming hydro-repellent agent for masonry injection requires the observance of some basic directions during substrate assessment and preparation:

  • treatment can be carried out only on vertical surfaces;
  • the substrate must be dry (after rain wait at least 24 hours - after having cleaned the area with a pressure wash wait at least 3 days);
  • the substrate must be sound (remove by brushing or mechanically from friable, dusty or stripped substrates any poorly adhering element and dirt: in any case, avoid cleaning with alkaline or containing cationic surfactants acid cleaners;
  • in case of new masonry, it is advisable to wait 28 days before you begin carrying out the treatment;
  • not recommended for use in masonry exposed to salt solutions (sodium chloride) strong attack.

Store in a dry place between +4 and +30°C. Stable for at least 12 months.
