Description

EASY-LAST 90 is a gray, thick liquid product made up of one-component polyurethane polymers that by reacting with moisture, forms (even at low temperature) a UV resistant and weatherproof elastomeric membrane.

This product polymerizes quickly even at low temperatures and with high relative humidity values.

EASY LAST-90 is water vapour permeable and therefore moisture does not accumulate under the coating.

Once fully polymerized, EASY LAST-90 gives rise to a highly water resistant waterproof coating (also in permanent contact) and to several chemicals agents, that perfeclty adheres to many substrates. Because of its non-thermoplastic chemical nature, which prevents both dust adhesion and softening at high temperature, EASY LAST-90 remains clean and can be easily cleaned in case of need.

Usage field

EASY-LAST 90 is specifically designed for the in-situ realization of waterproofing elastic membranes without internal reinforcement (armour). 

EASY-LAST 90 is used to waterproof:

  • flat or pitched roofs;
  • terraces and balconies;
  • sun roofs intended for pedestrian traffic (no need to apply additional finishes);
  • flashings and drainpipes/gutters.

 

EASY-LAST 90 can be applied to:

  • bituminous membranes;
  • concrete;
  • screeds;
  • ceramic and stone coatings (Fig. 1);
  • tiles.

Substrates preparation

Substrate Preparation

EASY-LAST 90 can be applied on substrates with a moisture content up to 6% (in compliance with UNI 10329), because since it is permeable to water vapor, this moisture will not cause bubbles formation. On the contrary, on surfaces with a higher moisture content both the compactness of the crosslinked film and its adhesion to the substrate are affected by the formation of bubbles in the coating.

Black Bitumen Membranes:

  • clean the surface employing the most appropriate method;
  • directly proceed with the application of EASY LAST-90 without primer.

Protected Bitumen Membranes:

  • check adhesion between protective film and bitumen membrane;
  • if adhesion is poor, remove the protective film before applying EASY LAST-90.

Slated Bitumen Membranes:

  • apply BLACK SOLID and then proceed with EASY LAST 90.

Industrial Concrete:

  • clean the surface removing oil and grease;
  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY LAST-90 with a flat steel trowel for a consumption of approx. 400 g/m2.

Cast and Striken-off Concrete:

  • verify that on the surface there is no cement laitance resulting from excess water in the mixture; in case of need remove it with a scarifying machine and then wash with pressurized water;
  • to correct slopes and fill hollows and holes, use GROVE MASSETTO mixed with GROVE GPRIMER;
  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY LAST-90 with a flat steel trowel with a consumption of approx. 400-500 g/m2.

Sand and Cement Screeds;

  • check the condition of the surface and carry out the appropriate interventions in order to obtain a cohesive bearing surface free from holes and depressions, with the correct slope and not too porous;
  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY-LAST 90 with a flat steel trowel for a consumption of approx. 400-600 g/m2.

Ceramic and Stone Coatings:

  • if you want to eliminate the pattern with the joints, patch with ANCHOR VE 400 spreading it with a steel spatula;
  • abrade the surface with a diamond wheel;
  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY-LAST 90 with a flat steel trowel for a consumption of approx. 400-600 g/m2.

 

Product preparation
  • Before use homogenize the product in the container with a low rpm mechanical mixer, carefully avoiding trapping air in the resin;
  • allow 5 minutes for the product to release air bubbles that are trapped during mixing.
  • When the packs are only partially used, proceed with cleaning the edge of the bucket before closing it, to avoid gluing the lid.
  • However, reclosing the bucket, does not guarantee neither air nor moisture tightness and will reduce shelf lige for subsequent uses.

 

Product application

Roll (on bitouminous membranes):

  • use a solvent resistant short haired roller (mod.M017);
  • a correct laying of EASY-LAST 90 with a roller allows reaching an average consumption of 0.8 kg/mper coat;
  • to reach an average consumption of approx. 1.6 kg/m, 2 coats should be laid within 24 hours of each other;
  • in case of either vertical or sloping surfaces, product viscosity should be increased by adding 1 - 4% by weight of EASY-LAST 90 THICKENER. Then, once EASY LAST-90 has been modified as mentioned above, it should be used within 1 hour. 

 

Roll (on concrete, screeds and both ceramic and stone coatings):

  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY-LAST 90 with a flat steel trowel for a consumption of approx. 500÷600 g/m2 and allow time for the surface to become treadable;
  • for subsequent coats use a solvent resistant, short-haired roller. (mod.M017);
  • correct laying of EASY-LAST 90 with a roller allows reaching a maximum consumption of 0.7÷0.8 kg/m2 per coat;
  • to reach the consumption of approx. 2.2÷2.4 kg/m2 , 2 coats should be laid within 24 hours of each other;
  • in case of either vertical or sloping surfaces, the viscosity of the product should be increased adding 1-4% by weight of EASY-LAST 90 THICKENER. Then, once EASY-LAST 90 has been modified as mentioned above, it should be used within 1 hour.

 

Spatula (self-leveling laying):

  • apply a first skimming coat of EASY-LAST 90 with a flat steel trowel for a consumption of approx. 500÷600 g/m2 and wait until the surface is treadable;
  • before laying the second coat, the product should be modified by adding the 6% of EASY LAST-90 FLUID;
  • apply with a steel notched trowel (LAMA PROFILO 93) to reach a consumption of approx. 2.2÷2.4 kg/m2;
  • when the product is still fresh, to release the trapped air from the film and facilitate the film stretching pass over with a plastic bubble breaker roller (mod. NR6300P - 25 cm).
  • Once modified as mentioned before, EASY-LAST 90 should be used within 1 hour. 
Tool cleaning
  • when the product is still fresh clean tools with Xylene or nitro diluent;
  • after the product has dried, clean tools by mechanical means.

  •  with roller on a bitumen membrane: 1.6÷1.8 kg/m2;

Warning and informations
  • Once cross linked, this product can be removed from tools by mechanical means only. Removal will be easier if you leave the tools soaking for at least 1 hour in a solvent like SOLVENTE PER EASY-LAST or ACETONE.
  • The product is harmful by inhalation and in contact with skin. Use work gloves class II in compliance with EN 374. During application ensure adequate workplace ventilation and wear a respirator or a mask with organic vapor cartridge type A2 or ABEK2 in compliance with EN 141.
  • Read the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) before use.

 

Preservation

6 months in original closed container in a dry place and at a temperature between +5°C and +30°C. The product is sensitive to frost.
