Fiber-elastic waterproofing liquid membrane


NORTIG FIBER-LAST is a ready to use mono-component membrane consisting of aqueous dispersion polymers, additives, fillers and special polymer fibres.

NORTIG FIBER-LAST creates an elastic fibre-reinforced film, of distinct characteristics for what concerns:

  • impermeability to water;
  • elasticity even at low temperatures;
  • tearing resistance and crack-bridging.


Usage field

NORTIG FIBER-LAST can be used to waterproof  indoor and outdoor horizontal and vertical areas prior to the lying of ceramic tiles and mosaics coatings. In particular, it is ideally suited for:

  • bathrooms and showers;
  • wet areas (wellness centres, spas, etc ...);
  • balconies.

NORTIG FIBER-LAST should be applied on the following laying substrates:

  • sand and cement screeds;
  • cementitious and lime plasters;
  • concrete;
  • plasterboard sheets;
  • tiled or natural stone coatings, after preparation.

Dried in PE 1.5 and 8 kg.

1 - Preparation of the substrate

Treatment of the angles between coupled structures

  • To ensure the tightness of the membrane at the wall / floor and wall / wall joint and on coupling fronts between wall and slab, it is necessary to shape an elastomeric cove which does not hinder the subsequent laying of the coating (mosaic, tiles, resin etc.) using BETONSEAL MS 2.0 sealant to be applied on the surface after having treated it for few minutes with the NORPHEN FONDO IGRO primer.
  • To facilitate the formation of the sealing curb on the corners a shaped spatula made of PP (polypropylene) mod L20 shall be used, which can be cleaned with denatured ethyl alcohol after work completion.
  • Do not use other sealants (acrylic, silicone or polyurethane based) since there is no guarantee that NORTIG FIBER-LAST can hang-up.




1.A Plaster and screeds

1.A.1 Without existing chalking

  • Substrate shall be fully cured prior to the laying of NORTIG FIBER-LAST;
  • make sure the surface is clean and dusted and that there are no paints or coatings that could impair adhesion. In the opposite case remove dirt, dust and paint, then wash with water;
  • wait the perfect drying of the surface: if damp continues rising on the substrate, do not proceed with the application;
  • gradient corrections or repairs must be made ​​with GROVE MASSETTO (on floor) or RASANTE 2000 2K (on wall or floor);
  • directly apply NORTIG FIBER-LAST on the substrate;
  • substrate can be walked on after about 3 hours at 23°C.






1.A.2 With existing chalking

  • When chalking is found on plasters and screeds, loose bodies (such as old coatings) must be removed and the area consolidated with BETON TACK prior to applying NORTIG FIBER-LAST.
  • BETON TACK can be applied by flat trowel or long haired roller (see Table 1 for coverage).

When BETON TACK has dried (about 2 hours at +23°C), proceed with the laying of NORTIG FIBER-LAST.

The substrate can be walked on after about 3 hours at 23°C.


1.B Concrete

  • Generally sufficient cleaning is carried out by sucking and washing away the concrete with water;
  • if on the surface there is a layer of cement laitance or bleeding powder or crusting it must be removed by a reinforced cutting wheel with a diamond pad;
  • if a film of no permanent curing agent of NORDCURE type exists it must be removed by high pressure washing or sanding followed by washing;
  • if there are holes or cleaving wider than 1 cm thick, restore with MALTAFIX.
  • directly apply NORTIG FIBER-LAST on the substrate;
  • substrate can be walked on after about 3 hours at 23°C.







1.C Plasterboard Sheets

  • Clean dust and prime the surface with BETON TACK. After about 2 hours at +23°C proceed with the application of NORTIG FIBER-LAST.


1.D Polished and Rough Tiles and Natural Stone

  • If the environment in which you operate contains artefacts sensitive to hydrochloric acid and its vapour like steel or other metal details, a NORDECAL FORTE GEL (NORDECAL P) based acid washing shall be carried out;
  • rinse with plenty of water and wait for the complete drying of the substrate;
  • when particularly hollow joints of more than 2 mm below the tile are on the tiled coating shave with RASANTE 2000 2K reinforced by a 80 to 90 gr/m2 mesh of glass;
  • NORTIG FIBER-LAST shall be directly applied onto the area without sanding the substrate: when a previous sanding had to be done, BETON TACK primer must be applied and 2 hours have to pass before waterproofing;
  • NORTIG FIBER LAST will be ready after about 3 hours, but since tiled substrates are not very absorbent it is good practice to check the drying level before proceeding.






2 - Application Methods

NORTIG FIBER-LAST is ready to use;

the product shall be applied with a notched trowel of approximately 3.5 mm as follows:

a) NORTIG FIBER-LAST shall be spread on the surface with the SMOOTH SIDE of the trowel by applying light pressure to help the wetting of the substrate and to obtain an even distribution of the product;

b) applied product thickness shall be adjusted with the TOOTHED SIDE of the trowel, passing the tool allows to evenly distribute the product. After this operation the surface of NORTIG FIBER-LAST will appear coastline indented;

c) the area shall be made even with the SMOOTH SIDE of the trowel.

Tool cleaning
  • Tools used in your application must be cleaned with water immediately after the end of work.
  • In the event that the product has become hard residues must be removed by mechanical means, flooding or living them soaked in acetone for at least 2 hours.
