Description

Q-LEVEL is a double component water based product formed by:

  • component A: mixture of liquid epoxy-based prepolimers;
  • component B: co-polimerizing amine and special fillers.

Once applied the product forms a rather hard layer, water and oil proof, though permeable to water vapor and particularly appropriate for the creation of mono or polychrome self-levelling coatings.

Q-LEVEL possesses excellent adhesion and good overall chemical resistance.

The product is available in a wide range of colors upon request.

Usage field

Q-LEVEL finds its use as a colored self-levelling coating for the creation of flooring in the following sectors:

  • in show-rooms and stores of any kind;
  • in private homes;
  • in offices (under the condition, in this case, of consulting first Nord Resine’s technical service);
  • resin coating for various kinds of industrial flooring.


Usable substrates:

  • mixes in sand and cement or cement based pre-packed  and self-levelling;
  • natural stone floorings;
  • tile floorings of any kind;
  • newly cast concrete;
  • new concrete already matured;
  • old concrete;
  • wooden panels;
  • cls and mixes on radiant floorings;
  • resinous coatings.

Substrates preparation

Warning

Being Q-LEVEL a self-levelling system to be applied by casting, always pay greatest attention to the substrate prepared for application: in fact, small holes, non-saturated porosity, and grains with dimensions greater than0,5 mmcan compromise the final outcome of the application.

Therefore, always apply a levelling with product Q-RASANTE preceded by a coat of Q-PRIMER for an intended consumption of 1,5÷2,0 kg/m2 corresponding to a variable thickness of 1,0 to1,3 mm (read carefully the specific data sheets for methods of preparation, casting and maturing times). 

Product preparation

Special care must be taken when preparing the mortar due to the formulation’s peculiar characteristics; stand by strictly to the following indications:

  • pour Q-LEVEL comp. A inside comp. B and mix thoroughly with a low speed mechanical agitator until obtaining a perfectly homogeneous mixture;
  • add, to the corresponding weight of A+B,  6% in weight of water and mix again;
  • then, clean with care the container’s walls where the mixture has been made, with the help of a clean trowel or smooth spatula;
  • accurately remix again everything with a mechanical agitator and add, with respect to the weight of A+B, 6% in weight of water and mix again in order to promote a perfect emulsification of comp. A into comp. B;
  • transfer the obtained product into another container before pouring it onto the floor;
Product application
  • make sure room temperature is not below  +10 °C;
  • pour the mortar onto the surface and spread it with a grooved spatula making sure of applying at least  3 kg/ m2 of the product;
  • after the application use the bubble breaking roll to help in spreading the product.

Maturing times

  • Q-LEVEL possesses a good reactivity even at temperatures close to +10°C: the time necessary for maximum performance is estimated to be 6¸7 days.
  • Finishing and maintenance
  • Finishing can be applied to Q-LEVEL the day after casting:
  • directly with NORDPOWDER CERA (WAX) to ease daily maintenance (to be executed with LILIUM detergent), or
  • with one or two coats of colored NORDPUR SW for decorating, signaling, etc., followed by a wax finish.
  • if a higher resistance to abrasion and scratching is desired it is possible to apply, after at least 2-3 days depending on the temperature, NORDPUR ANTIGRAFFIO by spray, finished with a coat of wax.

Average Consumption
  • For a coating 2 mm thick it is necessary to apply al least
  • 3 kg/m2 of product (A+B).
  • Application of lower quantities of product should be avoided in order not to compromise levelling characteristics.

Colors

Q-LEVEL can be provided in a wide range of colors, with some limitations due to the product’s peculiar nature: soft colors are difficult to obtain as is the color white.  For more accurate information on the availability or not of a particular hue contact Nord Resine’s technical office.

Furthermore, the product’s cost can vary considerably with color variation.

Warning and informations
  • Do not apply on:

- parquet;
- linoleum;
- rubber;
- surfaces with high expansion problems on coupling joints.

  • After 5 minutes from the mixture preparation, the product tends to thicken and to lose its self-levelling characteristics: to restore fluidity it is sufficient to remix with a mechanical agitator.
  • Mix components A and B in the proportions indicated on the packaging; partial use of the package forces the operator to homogenize both components in the containers before removal and to carefully weigh the withdrawals according to the weight proportion specified on the label.
  • During cold periods the product’s viscosity increases making application more difficult: take to a heated place before continuing.
  • Read the safety data sheet.
Preservation

Comp. A and B: 24 months in original packaging, in dry covered place at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C; protect from frost.
