Description

FAST FLUID AG is a liquid additive based on inorganic salts for sand and cement screeds that acts both as an anti-freeze and a setting accelerator.

FAST FLUID 100 is chlorides free.

FAST FLUID 100 is not suited for the activation of cement mortars and concretes.

 

FAST FLUID AG action is based on the acceleration of the setting reaction of cement, which involves an earlier development compared to normal heat of hydration times. By heating the mass, the formation of needle-like ice crystals, which would increase the volume, is avoided. Crystals expansion in the mixture during setting time causes significant mechanical stresses that cause the decrease in firmness and mechanical strength, surface cracking and degradation.

In Figure 1 are reproduced the curves determined at +5 ° C with Vicat needle on two cementitious mixtures made of the same concrete and having the same water / cement ratio. The difference between the two is that one is without admixture, and the other was admixed with 1. 5% of FAST FLUID AG by weight on the weight of cement.

Usage field

FAST FLUID AG is an admixture that offers certain beneficial effects to concrete, including acceleration of setting times and enhanced frost resistance for the preparation of:

  • conventional sand / cement screeds;
  • sand / cement fibre screeds;
  • sand / cement screeds for underfloor heating systems.FAST FLUID AG can be used in combination with FAST FLUID 100 and FAST FLUID 300 to accelerate curing and at the same time make sand / cement screeds with high compactness of improved thermologic properties.

 

Advantages

The benefits of using FAST FLUID AG are:

  • reduction of screed hardening times;
  • screed faster pedestrian walkability time;
  • reduction of underfloor heating System starting times;
  • improvement of mechanical strengths in the short term, especially in cold climates;
  • mixtures frost protection.

 

FAST FLUID AG is not corrosive and is chlorides free.

Application
  • FAST FLUID AG is ready to use and once premixed with mixing water, shall be introduced into the concrete mixer.
  • After the addition the mixture shall be mixed max. for 60-90 seconds and then the laying of the material shall be done.


Dosage

FAST FLUID AG is generally used with doses ranging from 1% to 2% by weight compared to the weight of cement (0.70-1.4 litres each 100 kg of cement).

During the cold season it is advisable:

  • to use high cement doses;
  • to choose high-quality, recently supplied cement;
  • to increase the temperature of both several components and means of transport.The minimum storage temperature of cement should be +5 ° C;
  • to start work in the morning so as to make the best use of the hottest hours of the day;
  • not to start work if temperatures are expected to drop to -10 ° C within the first 6 hours following the intervention;
  • to use the as low as possible water / cement ratio, possibly through the use of FAST FLUID 300.

Warning and informations
  • FAST FLUID AG can be used in combination with the following additives:
  • FAST FLUID 300, for the packaging of fast-drying screeds (see FLUID FAST 300 technical data sheet for what concerns curing times) and low water / cement ratio;
  • FAST FLUID 100, to reduce the mixing water up to 20%.
  • Can be used together with PP, PAN and PET polymeric fibres.
  • It is the best recommended admixture for the SC1F fibre screed.

 

 

Preservation

12 months in original packaging, in a covered, dry place at a temperature ranging from +5 to +35 ° C. Frost sensitive.
