Application

Preparing the Substrate

  • On all types of surfaces you are advised to use due state of the art diligence, waiting for the correct setting of the  adhesive layer and making sure tile gaps are fully clean throughout.

Preparing the mix:

  • pour COLORFILL FLEX 2-12 into a clean container where you previously put some clean water (22-25% in weight with respect to the dry part, depending on the colour and on whether the product is used on walls or floors), mixing with a low power mixer (500-600 r/min) until you get a homogeneous mixture;
  • after 3-4 minutes rest, mix again and use the mix within the next 20 minutes;

Using the mix:

  • fully seal the gaps, filling them up carefully with a proper rubber spatula, avoiding hole or hollow formation;
  • get rid of any excess product immediately after, running the spatula diagonally across the tiles.

Finish:

  • according to room temperature and humidity, the finishing operation can be carried out in a time interval going from 20 minutes to several hours (you can start proceeding when the mix becomes dull and hard);
  • any COLORFILL FLEX 2-12 residue must be removed with a wet hard sponge, always working diagonally across the tiles and continuously clearing away any debris with water;
  • if the mix becomes too hard, you can use wet Scotch-Briteâ pads;
  • for large surfaces, COLORFILL FLEX 2-12 residues can be cleaned away by using a suitable machine with  self cleaning ribbon sponge on the fresh product, and a monobrush equipped with Scotch-Briteâ discs on the partially hardened product.
  • In order to eliminate any halo following a wet cleaning operation, use a dry, clean cloth and act manually or place it under a monobrush equipped with Scotch-Briteâ discs.

Acid cleaning: 10-12 days after sealing, if halos should persist on the treated surface, use an acid detergent like NORDECAL FORTE, duly diluted with water according to the instructions found in the technical card.
