Description

NORPHEN VASCHE is a solvent-free two component product consisting of:

  • component A: a mix of liquid epoxy prepolymers, pigments, modifiers and special fillers;
  • component B: copolimerization amine.

Once fully cured, the material exhibits good chemical resistance as well as excellent waterproofness and flexibility.

The product is available in a choice of colours on request

Usage field
  • NORPHEN VASCHE is used for the realization of waterproof coatings of concrete or metal tanks designed to contain average acidity or highly alkaline liquids and especially of tanks used for sewage purification.
  • Moreover, NORPHEN VASCHE can also be used to coat non-drinkable water reservoirs.

Application

Lying Substrate Preparation:

  • carefully ensure that the substrate is a suitable and structurally sound base;
  • the kind of treatment to be performed shall be chosen, depending on the actual state of the area, between the following:

- hot water pressure washing;
- washing by means of acids;
- sanding;
- diamond grinding;
- scarification;
- sandblasting.

  • In this way all dust, dirt, grease, oil, old adhesive or paint, laitance, rust, mildew and other foreign materials will be removed.
  • Any depressions and inconsistencies of the surface must be compensated with GROVE RIPRISTINO, RASANTE 1200 or W3;
  • wait 3-6 hours for the partial skim coat curing, then smooth over with a 60-80 abrasive mesh.

Specific preparation:

  • make the coves with GROVE RAPIDO on concrete surfaces and NORPHEN CARBO STUCCO on metal surfaces;
  • on dry substrates prime with 1 coat of NORPHEN FONDO or NORPHEN FONDO MA to promote adhesion if surfaces are made of a ferrous material.

Product Preparation

  • Pour comp. B into comp. A and mix well with a professional mixer.

Product Application:

  • apply with roller, brush or sprayer;
  • adjust viscosity, if necessary, with SOLVENTE PER NORPHEN;
  • apply NORPHEN VASCHE in several coats at 8÷12 hours apart from each other until the thickness required by the project is achieved;
  • wait at least 7 days for complete curing.

 

Coverage per 1 Coat: 250 g/m2 per layer.

Average Consumption

To achieve a coating thickness of approx. 1 mm, 1.61 kg/m2 product (A+B) must be applied.

Warning and informations
  • Provide some good ventilation if you are going to use the product in closed tanks.
  • Mix the two components A and B in the exact proportions as indicated on the label; if you want to use only part of the pack, weigh out the two components accordingly.
  • The time interval between layers should not exceed 48 hours.
  • During the cold season the product viscosity increases, and using the roller becomes more difficult: take the packs to a warm place and let them reach room temperature before proceeding.
  • Read the Material Safety Data Sheet before use.
Preservation

24 months in the original packs, in a dry sheltered place, at temperatures between +5°C and +30°C; frost sensitive.
